Revision A of Garmins 8000 Series (8008,8208,8012,8212, 8015, 8215 & 8500) are now available online.
No mention of the CAN interfaces so far though – but matches up quite well with the Garmin new GPSMAP 700 (721/741) series where the 12 pin sonar connector is not mentioned and the Network port is reserved for “future use”. So it seems like Garmin are keeping some goodies for later.

The quick start manual is completely garbled – but Garmin might update that – so here is that link as well

Older Garmin Series 8000 Posts:
While it was only online for a short while – a few active people on THT spotted new Garmin Chartplotters on display on Garmins website.
The models was:
Garmin GPSMAP 8008 and Garmin GPSMAP 8208
Garmin GPSMAP 8012 and Garmin GPSMAP 8212
Garmin GPSMAP 8015 and Garmin GPSMAP 8215
The new models seem to replace the 7000 series with same prices for the new GPSMAP 8212 12″ as the old 12″ GPSMAP 7212.
Apart from that Garmin is launching a “Black Box” system where the screens are “independent” of the main processing module. Named Garmin GPSMAP 8500 and Garmin GPSMAP 8530 they support external multi-touch screens but at a rather high pricepoint.
Well we look forward to the official announcement!
